After reading follow up messages on this issue i would like to add something. I have a few questions i would like to raise. If indeed this is a genuine case of people bringing this issue to Hector's attention why is it now still four days later this sex discrimination policy is still being brought to the forum? I am sure by now Hector knows of this link and has taken on board any issues of concern. Could it be the intention is to provoke a reaction? This websites acceptable use policy states ' Hate posts or personal attacks will not be tolerated on this site' Also it goes on to state that 'talking trash about another user or posting topics specifically to provoke a negative response from an individual, group or entire community, is not acceptable on this site.' Yet on the 24th December 2008 at 17:53:50 Salsa Feista posted this comment. Dear Bachatero( or is that Herr Hiclor in disguise?) Can we be the 1st to welcome El barrio back to the local Salsa scene, we hope you give Salsa a decent go this time ( will you be able to resist the temptation of dictating music policy to the DJs?) and that meets with the boards growth ambitions! Hopefully you resolved those irritating issues like dancers taking up space, seeking a '' sleaze free'' night out and without fear of being targeted by flying objects, wanting access to drinks at less thanrip off prices, Oh and water ( remember your license obliges you to make water freely available. One question, what have you done to reduce the incidence of stolen coats, bags and drinks, previously your own staff were the worst offenders at lifting unfinished drinks whilst we were all up dancing! Finally, many thanks for mentioning 'Salsa sunday' and Salsa lounge' on your site, but did you know these are regular events at really nice venues? The organizers are not keen to be linked with the Rose street bunker'. What are the legalities of posting such comments? This post goes against all acceptable use policies on this site! So it brings me to the question why it was allowed? Also again after Nano's post about entry fee, same person added a post in relation to this whole sexual discrimination act. Afer posting my comment about El barrio one of the persons who posted a comment about the sex discrimination act contacted me, mentioned my defense of El Barrio then asked me how long i had been dancing for, and asked me what made me such an expert on Salsa. Also they told me i did not know the history. Which history is this? Of Salsa? I really thought this site was about a community who all supported one another and advertised each other's events? Letting us who enjoy Salsa dancing know whats on where and when? Also look and see if EL Barrio has posted on this message board any negative comments about other Salsa Venues. I can not find any. :)
